Hi, I’m Charissa.
I am from the bustling city of San Francisco, a city unique for its diversity. San Francisco’s embrace of multiculturalism planted the seed of my lifelong passion for travel. Therefore, it is no wonder that I chose Global Studies as my major, considering my passion for travel and culture. After high school graduation, I migrated to the bubble of Isla Vista to attend UCSB. In the bubble of Isla Vista dwells bustling streets full of animated restaurants and waves of bikers crammed along the serene ocean horizon. Since this lively college town offers every imaginable party every weekend, it is easy to forget there’s a world to explore beyond the beer pong tables and blasting music. I like to consider myself one of the adventurous few who dare to venture beyond the boisterous bubble of IV.
I chose to begin documenting my travels since I will be traveling to Washington D.C. for Winter quarter ’14. I will be interning for the US Department of State. I am as happy as a clam and bursting with excitement because this internship is in line with my career aspirations. My only concern is how this Californian is going to survive the frigid East Coast weather!
Please continue reading my blog posts for tips on surviving the winter East Coast weather, restaurant and food recommendations, and information regarding my internship. Make sure to visit my website (www.AsianVagabond.webs.com) for videos, fashion tips, and more!
